Dan oleh karena itu pembentukan nama YEHOSHUA (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) yang artinya TUHAN yang menyelamatkan, itu terdiri dari dua kata : kata pertama (1) YÀH- יְהyang artinya TUHAN, dan kata kedua (2) HO•SHA‛-הוֹשַׁע, yang artinya Menyelamatkan. Maka gabungan dati kata YÀH dan HO•SHA‛, itu disebut dengan sebutan ; YEHOSHUA (Ibrani) - YESHUA (Aram) - IESOUS (Yunani) – ISA (Arab) - YESUS (Indonesia). Jadi panggilan YESUS, itu sebutan panggilan YAHWEH (יְהוָ֔ה) yang tindakan-Nya untuk menyelamatkan (HO•SHA‛(הוֹשַׁע)) manusia dari dosa, dan untuk memperoleh hidup, yang sudah ada pada masa PL. Jadi nama depan dari kata YEH atau YAH yang adalah singkatan dari YEHOVAH, dan nama itu tidak berubah dan bukanlah juga nubuat, dan kata YASHA adalah kata kerja-Nya YEH atau YAH, dan yang kedua-Nya kata itu membentuk kata nama YESUS.

(Deu 20:4)  sebab TUHAN, Allahmu, Dialah yang berjalan menyertai kamu untuk berperang bagimu melawan musuhmu, dengan maksud memberikan kemenangan kepadamu.

Jdg 6:14  Lalu berpalinglah TUHAN kepadanya dan berfirman: "Pergilah dengan kekuatanmu ini dan selamatkanlah orang Israel dari cengkeraman orang Midian. Bukankah Aku mengutus engkau!" 

Jdg 6:15  Tetapi jawabnya kepada-Nya: "Ah Tuhanku, dengan apakah akan kuselamatkan orang Israel? Ketahuilah, kaumku adalah yang paling kecil di antara suku Manasye dan akupun seorang yang paling muda di antara kaum keluargaku."

(Jdg 6:31)  Tetapi jawab Yoas kepada semua orang yang mengerumuninya itu: "Kamu mau berjuang membela Baal? Atau kamu mau menolong dia? Siapa yang berjuang membela Baal akan dihukum mati sebelum pagi. Jika Baal itu allah, biarlah ia berjuang membela dirinya sendiri, setelah mezbahnya dirobohkan orang."

Jdg 6:36  Kemudian berkatalah Gideon kepada Allah: "Jika Engkau mau menyelamatkan orang Israel dengan perantaraanku, seperti yang Kaufirmankan itu, 

Jdg 6:37  maka aku membentangkan guntingan bulu domba di tempat pengirikan; apabila hanya di atas guntingan bulu itu ada embun, tetapi seluruh tanah di situ tinggal kering, maka tahulah aku, bahwa Engkau mau menyelamatkan orang Israel dengan perantaraanku, seperti yang Kaufirmankan."

(Jdg 7:7)  Lalu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Gideon: "Dengan ketiga ratus orang yang menghirup itu akan Kuselamatkan kamu: Aku akan menyerahkan orang Midian ke dalam tanganmu; tetapi yang lain dari rakyat itu semuanya boleh pergi, masing-masing ke tempat kediamannya."

(1Sa 4:3)  Ketika tentara itu kembali ke perkemahan, berkatalah para tua-tua Israel: "Mengapa TUHAN membuat kita terpukul kalah oleh orang Filistin pada hari ini? Marilah kita mengambil dari Silo tabut perjanjian TUHAN, supaya Ia datang ke tengah-tengah kita dan melepaskan kita dari tangan musuh kita."

 1Sa_11:3,  מוֹשִׁ֛יעַ  , mo•Shi•a' and then if [there be] no man to save

(1Sa 11:3)  Para tua-tua Yabesh berkata kepadanya: "Berilah kelonggaran kepada kami tujuh hari lamanya, supaya kami mengirim utusan ke seluruh daerah Israel; dan jika tidak ada seorangpun yang menyelamatkan kami, maka kami akan keluar menyerahkan diri kepadamu."

(1Sa 11:3)  וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ vai·yo·me·Ru said  אֵלָ֜יו 'e·Lav about  זִקְנֵ֣י zik·Nei And the elders  יָבֵ֗ישׁ ya·Veish, of Jabesh  הֶ֤רֶף He·ref respite  לָ֙נוּ֙ la·nu  שִׁבְעַ֣ת shiv·'At unto him Give us seven  יָמִ֔ים ya·Mim, days'  וְנִשְׁלְחָה֙ ve·nish·le·Chah that we may send  מַלְאָכִ֔ים mal·'a·Chim, messengers  בְּכֹ֖ל be·Chol throughout  גְּב֣וּל ge·Vul unto all the coasts  יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Yis·ra·'El; of Israel  וְאִם־ ve·'im- if  אֵ֥ין 'ein there  מוֹשִׁ֛יעַ mo·Shi·a' and then if [there be] no man to save  אֹתָ֖נוּ 'o·Ta·nu  וְיָצָ֥אנוּ ve·ya·Tza·nu us we will come out  אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ 'e·Lei·cha. about

 1Sa_14:6, לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ {le•ho•Shi•a'} to save

(1Sa 14:6)  Berkatalah Yonatan kepada bujang pembawa senjatanya itu: "Mari kita menyeberang ke dekat pasukan pengawal orang-orang yang tidak bersunat ini. Mungkin TUHAN akan bertindak untuk kita, sebab bagi TUHAN tidak sukar untuk menolong, baik dengan banyak orang maupun dengan sedikit orang."

(1Sa 14:6)  וַיֹּ֨אמֶר vai·Yo·mer said  יְהוֹנָתָ֜ן ye·ho·na·Tan And Jonathan  אֶל־ 'el- to  הַנַּ֣עַר ׀ han·Na·'ar to the young man  נֹשֵׂ֣א no·Se that bare  כֵלָ֗יו che·Lav, his armour  לְכָה֙ le·Chah Come  וְנַעְבְּרָ֗ה ve·na'·be·Rah, and let us go over  אֶל־ 'el- to  מַצַּב֙ matz·Tzav unto the garrison  הָעֲרֵלִ֣ים ha·'a·re·Lim of these uncircumcised  הָאֵ֔לֶּה ha·'El·leh, of these  אוּלַ֛י 'u·Lai perhaps  יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה ya·'a·Seh will work  יְהוָ֖ה Yah·weh it may be that the LORD  לָ֑נוּ La·nu;  כִּ֣י ki for  אֵ֤ין 'ein for  לַֽיהוָה֙ Yah·weh to the LORD  מַעְצ֔וֹר ma'·Tzor, for us for [there is] no restraint  לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ le·ho·Shi·a' to save  בְּרַ֖ב be·Rav by many  א֥וֹ o or  בִמְעָֽט׃ vim·'At. or by few

 1Sa_23:2, וְהוֹשַׁעְתָּ֖ {ve•ho•sha'•Ta} save

(1Sa 23:2)  Lalu bertanyalah Daud kepada TUHAN: "Apakah aku akan pergi mengalahkan orang Filistin itu?" Jawab TUHAN kepada Daud: "Pergilah, kalahkanlah orang Filistin itu dan selamatkanlah Kehila."

(1Sa 23:2)  וַיִּשְׁאַ֨ל vai·yish·'Al enquired  דָּוִ֤ד da·Vid Therefore David  בַּֽיהוָה֙ Yah·weh of the LORD  לֵאמֹ֔ר le·Mor, saying  הַאֵלֵ֣ךְ ha·'e·Lech go  וְהִכֵּ֔יתִי ve·hik·Kei·ti, and smite  בַּפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים bap·pe·lish·Tim the Philistines  הָאֵ֑לֶּה ha·'El·leh; these  סsa·Mek  וַיֹּ֨אמֶר vai·Yo·mer said  יְהוָ֜ה Yah·weh of the LORD  אֶל־ 'el- to  דָּוִ֗ד da·Vid, unto David  לֵ֚ךְ lech Go  וְהִכִּ֣יתָ ve·hik·Ki·ta and smite  בַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים vap·pe·lish·Tim, the Philistines  וְהוֹשַׁעְתָּ֖ ve·ho·sha'·Ta and save  אֶת־ 'et-  קְעִילָֽה׃ ke·'i·Lah. Keilah

2Sa_3:18, הוֹשִׁ֜יעַ{ ho•Shi•a'} I will save

(2Sa 3:18)  Maka sekarang bertindaklah, sebab TUHAN sudah berfirman tentang Daud, demikian: Dengan perantaraan hamba-Ku Daud Aku akan menyelamatkan umat-Ku Israel dari tangan orang Filistin dan dari tangan semua musuhnya."

(2Sa 3:18)  וְעַתָּ֖ה ve·'at·Tah Now  עֲשׂ֑וּ 'a·Su; Now then do  כִּ֣י ki For  יְהוָ֗ה Yah·weh [it] for the LORD  אָמַ֤ר 'a·Mar hath spoken  אֶל־ 'el- about  דָּוִד֙ da·Vid of David  לֵאמֹ֔ר le·Mor, saying  בְּיַ֣ד ׀ be·Yad By the hand  דָּוִ֣ד da·Vid David  עַבְדִּ֗י 'av·Di, of my servant  הוֹשִׁ֜יעַ ho·Shi·a' I will save  אֶת־ 'et-  עַמִּ֤י 'am·Mi my people  יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ Yis·ra·'El Israel  מִיַּ֣ד mi·Yad out of the hand  פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים pe·lish·Tim, of the Philistines  וּמִיַּ֖ד u·mi·Yad and out of the hand  כָּל־ kol- of all  אֹיְבֵיהֶֽם׃ 'o·ye·vei·Hem. of all their enemies

2Sa_22:28, תּוֹשִׁ֑יעַ {to•Shi•a';} wilt save

(2Sa 22:28)  Bangsa yang tertindas Engkau selamatkan, tetapi mata-Mu melawan orang-orang yang tinggi hati, supaya mereka Kaurendahkan.

(2Sa 22:28)  וְאֶת־ ve·'Et  עַ֥ם 'am people  עָנִ֖י 'a·Ni And the afflicted  תּוֹשִׁ֑יעַ to·Shi·a'; thou wilt save  וְעֵינֶ֖יךָ ve·'ei·Nei·cha but thine eyes  עַל־ 'al- are on  רָמִ֥ים ra·Mim [are] upon the haughty  תַּשְׁפִּֽיל׃ tash·Pil. [that] thou mayest bring [them] down

2Sa_22:42,  מֹשִׁ֑יעַ   ,  mo•Shi•a'; but [there was] none to save

(2Sa 22:42)  Mereka berteriak minta tolong, tetapi tidak ada yang menyelamatkan, mereka berteriak kepada TUHAN, tetapi Ia tidak menjawab mereka.

(2Sa 22:42)  יִשְׁע֖וּ yish·'U They looked  וְאֵ֣ין ve·'Ein there  מֹשִׁ֑יעַ mo·Shi·a'; but [there was] none to save  אֶל־ 'el- to  יְהוָ֖ה Yah·weh [even] unto the LORD  וְלֹ֥א ve·Lo did not  עָנָֽם׃ 'a·Nam. but he answered

2Ki_16:7,  וְהוֹשִׁעֵ֜נִי {ve•ho•shi•'E•ni} and save 

(2Ki 16:7)  Ahas menyuruh utusan-utusan kepada Tiglat-Pileser, raja Asyur, mengatakan: "Aku ini hambamu dan anakmu. Majulah dan selamatkanlah aku dari tangan raja Aram dan dari tangan raja Israel, yang telah bangkit menyerang aku."

(2Ki 16:7)  וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח vai·yish·Lach sent  אָחָ֜ז 'a·Chaz So Ahaz  מַלְאָכִ֗ים mal·'a·Chim, messengers  אֶל־ 'el- about  תִּ֠גְלַת Tig·lat  פְּלֶ֤סֶר pe·Le·ser to Tiglathpileser  מֶֽלֶךְ־ Me·lech- king  אַשּׁוּר֙ 'ash·Shur of Assyria  לֵאמֹ֔ר le·Mor, saying  עַבְדְּךָ֥ 'av·de·Cha I [am] thy servant  וּבִנְךָ֖ u·vin·Cha and thy son  אָ֑נִי 'A·ni; I  עֲלֵ֨ה 'a·Leh come up  וְהוֹשִׁעֵ֜נִי ve·ho·shi·'E·ni and save  מִכַּ֣ף mik·Kaf me out of the hand  מֶֽלֶךְ־ Me·lech- of the king  אֲרָ֗ם 'a·Ram, of Syria  וּמִכַּף֙ u·mik·Kaf and out of the hand  מֶ֣לֶךְ Me·lech of the king  יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Yis·ra·'El, of Israel  הַקּוֹמִ֖ים hak·ko·Mim which rise up  עָלָֽי׃ 'a·Lai. against

2Ki_19:19,  הוֹשִׁיעֵ֥נוּ {ho•shi•'E•nu} I beseech thee save 

(2Ki 19:19)  Maka sekarang, ya TUHAN, Allah kami, selamatkanlah kiranya kami dari tangannya, supaya segala kerajaan di bumi mengetahui, bahwa hanya Engkau sendirilah Allah, ya TUHAN."

(2Ki 19:19)  וְעַתָּה֙ ve·'at·Tah Now  יְהוָ֣ה Yah·weh Now therefore O LORD  אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ 'e·lo·Hei·nu, our God  הוֹשִׁיעֵ֥נוּ ho·shi·'E·nu I beseech thee save  נָ֖א na pray  מִיָּד֑וֹ mi·ya·Do; thou us out of his hand  וְיֵֽדְעוּ֙ ve·ye·de·'U may know  כָּל־ kol- all  מַמְלְכ֣וֹת mam·le·Chot that all the kingdoms  הָאָ֔רֶץ ha·'A·retz, of the earth  כִּ֥י ki for  אַתָּ֛ה 'at·Tah O  יְהוָ֥ה Yah·weh that thou [art] the LORD  אֱלֹהִ֖ים E·lo·Him God  לְבַדֶּֽךָ׃ le·vad·De·cha. you alone  סsa·Mek

 2Ki_19:34,  לְהֽוֹשִׁיעָ֑הּ, le•ho•shi•'Ah; to save

(2Ki 19:34)  Dan Aku akan memagari kota ini untuk menyelamatkannya, oleh karena Aku dan oleh karena Daud, hamba-Ku."

(2Ki 19:34)  וְגַנּוֹתִ֛י ve·gan·no·Ti For I will defend  אֶל־ 'el- about  הָעִ֥יר ha·'Ir this city  הַזֹּ֖את haz·Zot likewise  לְהֽוֹשִׁיעָ֑הּ le·ho·shi·'Ah; to save  לְמַֽעֲנִ֔י le·ma·'a·Ni, sake  וּלְמַ֖עַן u·le·Ma·'an sake  דָּוִ֥ד da·Vid David's  עַבְדִּֽי׃ 'av·Di. it for mine own sake and for my servant

 1Ch_16:35,  הוֹשִׁיעֵ֙נוּ֙ ho•shi•'E•nu ye Save ;  יִשְׁעֵ֔נוּ yish•'E•nu, of our salvation 

(1Ch 16:35)  Dan katakanlah: "Selamatkanlah kami, ya TUHAN Allah, Penyelamat kami, dan kumpulkanlah dan lepaskanlah kami dari antara bangsa-bangsa, supaya kami bersyukur kepada nama-Mu yang kudus, dan bermegah dalam puji-pujian kepada-Mu."

(1Ch 16:35)  וְאִמְר֕וּ ve·'im·Ru And say  הוֹשִׁיעֵ֙נוּ֙ ho·shi·'E·nu ye Save  אֱלֹהֵ֣י 'e·lo·Hei us O God  יִשְׁעֵ֔נוּ yish·'E·nu, of our salvation  וְקַבְּצֵ֥נוּ ve·kab·be·Tze·nu and gather us together  וְהַצִּילֵ֖נוּ ve·hatz·tzi·Le·nu and deliver  מִן־ min- from  הַגּוֹיִ֑ם hag·go·Yim; us from the heathen  לְהֹדוֹת֙ le·ho·dOt that we may give thanks  לְשֵׁ֣ם le·Shem name  קָדְשֶׁ֔ךָ kod·She·cha to thy holy  לְהִשְׁתַּבֵּ֖חַ le·hish·tab·Be·ach [and] glory  בִּתְהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ bit·hil·la·Te·cha. in thy praise

Job_22:29,   יוֹשִֽׁעַ  {yo•Shi•a'} and he shall save

(Job 22:29)  Karena Allah merendahkan orang yang angkuh tetapi menyelamatkan orang yang menundukkan kepala!

(Job 22:29)  כִּֽי־ ki- When  הִ֭שְׁפִּילוּ Hish·pi·lu When [men] are cast down  וַתֹּ֣אמֶר vat·To·mer then thou shalt say  גֵּוָ֑ה ge·Vah; [There is] lifting up  וְשַׁ֖ח ve·Shach the humble  עֵינַ֣יִם 'ei·Na·yim person  יוֹשִֽׁעַ׃ yo·Shi·a'. and he shall save

 Job_40:14,  תוֹשִׁ֖עַ , to•Shi•a' can save

(Job 40:14)  Dia yang pertama dibuat Allah, makhluk yang diberi-Nya bersenjatakan pedang;

(Psa 3:7)  Aku tidak takut kepada puluhan ribu orang yang siap mengepung aku.

(Psa 6:4)  dan jiwakupun sangat terkejut; tetapi Engkau, TUHAN, berapa lama lagi?

Psa_18:27,  תוֹשִׁ֑יעַ ,  to•Shi•a'; For thou wilt save

(Psa 18:27)  terhadap orang yang suci Engkau berlaku suci, tetapi terhadap orang yang bengkok Engkau berlaku belat-belit.

(Psa 22:21)  Lepaskanlah aku dari pedang, dan nyawaku dari cengkeraman anjing.

(Psa 28:9)  Selamatkanlah kiranya umat-Mu dan berkatilah milik-Mu sendiri, gembalakanlah mereka dan dukunglah mereka untuk selama-lamanya.

(Psa 31:2)  Pada-Mu, TUHAN, aku berlindung, janganlah sekali-kali aku mendapat malu. Luputkanlah aku oleh karena keadilan-Mu,

 Psa_31:16,  ה֖וֹשִׁיעֵ֣נִי ho•shi•'E•ni save

(Psa 31:16)  Masa hidupku ada dalam tangan-Mu, lepaskanlah aku dari tangan musuh-musuhku dan orang-orang yang mengejar aku!

(Psa 31:16)  הָאִ֣ירָה ha·'I·rah to shine  פָ֭נֶיךָ Fa·nei·cha Make thy face  עַל־ 'al- upon  עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ 'av·De·cha; upon thy servant  ה֖וֹשִׁיעֵ֣נִי ho·shi·'E·ni save  בְחַסְדֶּֽךָ׃ ve·chas·De·cha. me for thy mercies'

 Psa_37:40,   וְיוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ם ve•yo•shi•'Em; and save

(Psa 37:40)  TUHAN menolong mereka dan meluputkan mereka, Ia meluputkan mereka dari tangan orang-orang fasik dan menyelamatkan mereka, sebab mereka berlindung pada-Nya.

(Psa 37:40)  וַֽיַּעְזְרֵ֥ם vai·ya'·ze·Rem shall help  יְהוָ֗ה Yah·weh And the LORD  וַֽיְפַ֫לְּטֵ֥ם vay·Fal·le·Tem them and deliver  יְפַלְּטֵ֣ם ye·fal·le·Tem them he shall deliver  מֵ֭רְשָׁעִים Me·re·sha·'im them from the wicked  וְיוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ם ve·yo·shi·'Em; and save  כִּי־ ki- Because  חָ֥סוּ Cha·su them because they trust  בֽוֹ׃ vo.

 Psa_44:3,  הוֹשִׁ֪יעָ֫ה   , ho•Shi•'Ah save

(Psa 44:3)  Engkau sendiri, dengan tangan-Mu, telah menghalau bangsa-bangsa, tetapi mereka ini Kaubiarkan bertumbuh; suku-suku bangsa telah Kaucelakakan, tetapi mereka ini Kaubiarkan berkembang.

(Psa 55:16)  Biarlah maut menyergap mereka, biarlah mereka turun hidup-hidup ke dalam dunia orang mati! Sebab kejahatan ada di kediaman mereka, ya dalam batin mereka.
